DeJan Toney is the owner and CEO of Like Me Natural Skincare, a skincare company that focuses on natural ingredients for healthier skin. In 2017 Toney developed extremely dry skin while deployed in the Middle East. She tried a new skincare regimen, but nothing seemed to work. “I remember being very frustrated because I’ve never had an issue with my skin,” said Toney. After researching the possible causes of her dry skin, she discovered a lot of her go-to products had harmful chemicals and alcohols that aided in the drying of her skin. She noticed many soldiers were complaining of the same issues, so she began to research some home remedies. “Enough is enough!” exclaimed Toney, “I need something that’s natural, like me!” and with that statement, her natural skincare journey began. With resources being very limited, it wasn’t until 2018 when Toney returned from deployment, that she was able to truly experiment with different natural scrubs and body butters. After 5 months and over 15 attempts, Toney successfully created a Coffee Scrub, Brown Sugar Honey Scrub and various scented whipped body butters that she incorporated into her everyday routine. Within a week of using these new products she noticed her dry skin was almost nonexistent! She went on to conduct multiple trials in 5 different states with small groups ranging in age from 5 to 83. Each participant had different skin types, problem areas and skin conditions. Toney was pleased to receive positive feedback from 100% of the trial participants after just a few days. With more than 30% of the group experiencing instant results, Toney knew she had to introduce Like Me, Natural Skincare to the world. Since launching Like Me, Toney has helped 100+ people learn more about their skin type(s) and how much natural ingredients can improve their health. Toney stated, “My goal is to make natural skincare the new standard in the beauty and cosmetic industry by showing real people with real results and real reviews! That’s the Like Me way.”
